NEW PALTZ, N.Y. – Kate Addiss will return for a second season as an assistant women’s soccer coach at the State University of New York at New Paltz, as announced by the Department of Athletics, Wellness & Recreation.
Addiss will continue to work with the goalkeepers and assist head coach Colleen Bruley with the day-to-day organization of practices and off-the-field duties.
“We are excited to have Kate back to work with our goalkeepers and to help me get ready for an exciting season!” Bruley said. “We have worked hard this offseason to prepare for this year, and I am happy Kate is going to share it with us.”
Prior to coaching, Addiss was a standout forward on the New Paltz women’s soccer team from 2005-08. She garnered Second-Team All-State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) laurels during her senior season in 2008 after netting five goals, all of which were game-winners. The Hawks went 10-8-1 that year, which marked the program’s best record since 2005.
"I'm excited to be returning to the women's program as the assistant coach,” Addiss said. “I am looking forward to passing along the virtues and principles that New Paltz athletics instilled in me as a student-athlete here to the next generation."
Addiss received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from New Paltz in 2010.
