#13 Ramapo Too Much for #13 Hawks

MAHWAH, N.J.- The New Paltz men's volleyball team fell to the #13 Roadrunners of Ramapo 3-1 (23-30, 30-24, 23-30, 23-30) Wednesday night to fall to 10-10 overall and 3-2 in the NECVA Metro.  The Hawks and Ramapo are both nationally ranked #13 after the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll was released on Tuesday, March 2nd.  The Hawks return to action on Saturday against Sacred Heart University at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. against #7 Philadelphia Biblical in a Tri-Match.

Kevin Stross led the Hawks with 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .433, including three blocks.  !Daniel Liberto# had a solid game with 14 kills and one error with a .500 hitting percentage with two blocks.  Sean Foley and Jake Moore each added nine kills a piece and Moore had two blocks.  Andrew Cassius handed out 50 assists and had six digs and Mike Fink led the defense with 11 digs.

The Roadrunners were led by Kevin Froehlich with 18 kills and Josh Castillo chipped in with 17 kills.  Paul Konopacki had 12 kills and five blocks and Elvis Cabrera had 10 as the Roadrunners improve to 14-6 overall and 6-1 in the NECVA Metro.  Matt Scott handed out a game-high 60 assists and Kurt Backlund led the defense with 12 digs.
