Hawks Fall In Home Opener

NEW PALTZ, NY- The New Paltz women's lacrosse team fell to the Royals of Scranton by the score of 13-4 Saturday afternoon.  The Hawks fall to 1-3 overall and return to action Wednesday, March 31st when they host Ramapo at 4:00 p.m.  Scranton improves to 4-4 overall.

 

The Royals held a slight advantage in shots, 29-13 and in groundballs 19-13.  The Hawks were successful in clearing the ball seven of eight times and forced ten turnovers. 

 

Erin Tornatore led the Hawks on the afternoon with two goals.  Bridgitte Hooker and Brittany Bennett each tallied one goal.  Samantha DelGaudio found the open player collecting two assists.

 

Margaret DeLauter recorded the loss in net for the Hawks, allowing 13 goals and saving ten.

 

Caroline Pryor led the Royals with a hat-trick and added two assists.  Five Scranton players scored two goals each on the afternoon. 

 

Cassie Murphy recorded the win in net, allowing four goals and saving four in the contest.
