Van Tyne Powers Hawks Past City Tech

JAMAICA, NY- The New Paltz men's volleyball team opened up the York Tournament with a straight set victory over New York City Tech, 3-0 (30-19, 30-18, 30-17) to improve to 12-12 overall. The Hawks return to action tomorrow at 9 a.m. in their first of three matches of the day.
Mike Van Tyne powered the Hawks with career-highs of 13 kills, six service aces and nine digs and
Kevin Stross added eight kills while hitting .600.
Jonathan Van Dyke finished with six kills and no errors, including a .667 hitting percentage.
Bryan Weber added three service aces and
Mike Dauernheim had eight digs on defense for the Hawks.
Frank Ciccone handed out a game-high 32 assists.
